Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival in shillong and drive to Cherrapunji
Arrive at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, marking the beginning of your 4-day journey through Meghalaya. Our representative will greet you and assist with your transfer to Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya.
As you drive through the scenic hills and valleys, enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Stop at the Umiam Lake, a picturesque spot offering stunning views of the lake and the surrounding hills.
After a drive of approximately 3 hours, arrive in Cherrapunji, the wettest place on earth. Check-in to your hotel and freshen up.
In the afternoon, visit the Seven Sisters Falls, a breathtaking waterfall that is a must-see in Cherrapunji. Also, explore the Mawsmai Cave, a limestone cave that is a natural wonder.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Khasi dinner and relax at the hotel. Overnight Stay: Cherrapunji
Day 2 : Cherrapunji
After breakfast, start your day with a visit to the Nohkalikai Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in India. The falls are surrounded by lush greenery and offer a breathtaking view.
Next, visit the Thangkharang Park, a scenic spot offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Take a short trek to the Khoh Ramhah rock formation, also known as the "Giant Basket."
In the afternoon, visit the Ramakrishna Mission, a spiritual center that offers a peaceful atmosphere. Also, explore the Cherrapunji Museum, which showcases the history and culture of Meghalaya.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Khasi dance performance and relax at the hotel. Overnight Stay: Cherrapunji
Day 3 : Cherrapunji to Dawki
After breakfast, depart from Cherrapunji and drive to Dawki (approximately 80 km, 2.5 hours). Dawki is a small town located on the India-Bangladesh border.
As you drive through the scenic hills and valleys, enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Stop at the Pynursla village, known for its scenic views and traditional Khasi culture.
Arrive in Dawki and check-in to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Umngot River, which forms the border between India and Bangladesh. Take a boat ride on the river and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
In the evening, explore the Dawki market and try some local cuisine. Overnight Stay: Dawki
Day 4 : Dawki and Departure
After breakfast, visit the Mawlynnong Village, known for its cleanliness and natural beauty. The village has been declared the cleanest village in Asia and is a must-visit destination.
Next, visit the Bangladesh Border and take a walk along the river. The border is a scenic spot offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
After lunch, depart for Guwahati Airport/Railway Station (approximately 200 km, 4.5 hours), marking the end of your 4-day journey through Meghalaya.
Return home with fond memories of your trip to Meghalaya, a state known for its natural beauty, rich culture, and warm hospitality.
